Sara Senigaglia born in Venice in 1985. She now lives and works in Burano, a little island in the Lagoon of Venice, made famous for its tradition of artistic lacework, few minutes away with the boat from Murano (the World renowned island of glass-making). |
She graduated at Art's High School of Venice (Liceo Artistico Statale di Venezia). Then she attended Fine Arts Academy of Venice (Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia), where she earned a degree in Painting in 2008, with a thesis on Artistic Anatomy. |
Her
involvement in engraving and etching techniques, brought Sara to
rediscover and to study the ancient technique of Engraving on Gold Leaf
and afterwards to apply it on Murano glass objects. At first on glasses and chalices then on ornamental vases and plates, "Veronese" vases, "Schisse" (squeezed vases) and hand-flattened sqaure plates and at last on small jewels always in Murano glass finely decorated with gold leaf. |
